Myriad Features
Myriad Functionality/Feature Set
Graphical Workspace
The graphical workspace is a GUI (Graphical User Interface) based application that allows users to open Myriad graphic draw files, manipulate them, save them and then export them to various formats. It is a full featured 2-dimensional drawing editor with advanced features that include alignment tools, scaling, rotation and complex figure types such as b-spline and bezier curves.
Display Interrogation
The software extracts binary and configuration information from the original displays and is capable of reporting on this configuration information prior to performing a conversion.
Graphics Conversion
Graphics pages from the legacy system are converted into their individual (binary) elements. These elements (text, line, bar graph, trend etc.) are configured using stylesheets then exported to the target sytem where they will look and operate the same as the original graphic.
Database Conversion
The software also upgrades the configuration or tag database directly into the target environment. Standard transformations are used to map the properties of the legacy system to the new target environment. The data mapping can be customized for project specific requirements using the database stylesheet editor.
Automated Object Replacement
If a specific design element (tank, pump etc.) recurs throughout the conversion project, a replacement can be configured and automatically replaced wherever that object occurs as the displays are converted.
Enhancements/System Upgrading
It is usually older systems that require upgrading and many of these systems require major usability improvements which are expensive if done manually. Using Myriad the user can specify these enhancements and implement them through configuration during the upgrade resulting in increased sytem functionality.
Exception Reporting
SCADA display objects with translation issues and potential conflicts (typically scripts) are highlighted for the operator within the conversion to allow for manual intervention. Reports can be generated in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format which list all the displays in a project and identify any issues that were encountered while exporting them.
Testing
By using an automated tool, each component within a project only needs to be tested once. If a fault is found, it is corrected in a single location for all instances, saving valuable testing and rework time.
